Master Photoshop Like a Pro: The Most Powerful Keyboard Shortcuts You Need to Know

Photoshop is an incredible tool for photographers, designers, and digital artists. But if you’re not using keyboard shortcuts, you’re missing out on a whole new level of efficiency. I still remember the time when I used to navigate through menus for every little task, and it was painfully slow. The moment I started using keyboard shortcuts, my workflow changed completely. Suddenly, I was working faster, and the process felt much smoother. Let me share some of the most powerful keyboard shortcuts that helped me master Photoshop like a pro.

One of the first shortcuts that became second nature to me was Ctrl + Z (Cmd + Z on Mac). This simple shortcut lets you undo your last action, and trust me, you’ll use it a lot. If you need to go back multiple steps, Ctrl + Alt + Z allows you to step back through your history. This was a game-changer for me, especially when experimenting with edits.

Another essential shortcut that saved me hours is Ctrl + S for saving your work. It sounds basic, but if you’ve ever lost hours of progress because Photoshop crashed, you’ll appreciate the habit of hitting Ctrl + S every few minutes. And if you want to save your work under a new name or format, Ctrl + Shift + S (Save As) is the way to go.

Selecting elements quickly is crucial in Photoshop. The Marquee Tool can be accessed using M, and if you need the Lasso Tool, just press L.
