For the longest time, I never really paid much attention to the numeric keypad on my keyboard. I always thought it was just another part of the keyboard that I rarely used, apart from entering numbers occasionally. But over time, as I started using it more, I realized just how useful it can be in my daily tasks. At first glance, the numeric keypad looks like a mini calculator stuck on the right side of a full-sized keyboard. It consists of numbers 0-9, arithmetic operators (+, -, *, /), a decimal point, the Enter key, and the Num Lock key. If you have ever used a calculator, the layout feels quite familiar, which is why I eventually started using it more when working with numbers.

Data Entry Made Easy

One of the biggest advantages I found with the numeric keypad is how much faster I can enter numbers. When I used the number row above the alphabets, I constantly had to shift my fingers and sometimes even glance at the keyboard to make sure I was hitting the right keys. But with the numeric keypad, I could quickly enter numbers without much effort, making tasks like entering phone numbers, financial figures, or Excel data much more efficient.

When I started working on spreadsheets, the numeric keypad became my best friend. Instead of stretching my fingers all over the keyboard, I could enter data smoothly and without interruptions. If you work with numbers a lot, you will definitely appreciate the convenience.
